Hi Chris ...

Apart from any mechanical considerations, the camera - especially when
compared to the Spotmatic era cameras, the K-series bodies, the LX, the
ME-S, a Leica, older Nikons, and others - just feels cheap. I've not
had any real problems with mine, although the film advance now seems to
feel a little less precise than it used to. It just doesn't measure up
to the standards I think Pentax is - and has shown itself to be -
capable of. Flimsy is the word that comes to mind ... maybe I said that
before.

It's that flimsiness that makes me reach for the ME S when I want
something lighter and simpler than the LX.
