My opinion too, exactly. I only want to add that, after having improved the whole workflow, the next step must necessarily be to get rid of the "technical perfection obsession" (without getting rid of the technical skills) and get back to the essentials of photography. That way, one will have gained better control without having turned into a worse photographer. I think I've gone past the obsession period and now I'm quite safely on the saddle of shooting as a photographer, not as a lab technician.
