Well that's telling. That immediately makes me think of the CMOS battery that keeps the clock going on the motherboard when the PC's off, and incidentally keeps plenty of other settings like what disk drives/ floppy drives are connected. Usually (but not always) this battery is a standard coin cell (button cell) on the motherboard, and easily changed. Most likely a CR2016 Put a new one in anyway, they're only a few pounds/dollars/whatever, and it's unlikely to make anything worse in my experience. > Files are backed up, except the last day or so.
