The practical consequence of all this for me (fan of Pentax cameras, so
that means the imaging division or whatever the hell they call it) is
that previously Pentax could muddle along, just surviving economially,
and still make stuff.  The optimist in me says Hoya will make them pay
more attention and keep up better, the pessimist says as soon as they
don't make "enough" they're gone ala Konica-Minolta.  Since I don't own
shares, the rest is academic for me.  I do think about how much it would
cost to rebuild my kit with Nikon, though.  ;-(
