I think it's a 1930s race car. Probably an Indy car. The maker is unknown to me. It could also be an early grand prix car, possibly an Alpha. If I can hunt it down in the next few days, I'll find out. I'm curious as well. I was thinking I might be able to match the tail and the cowling shape to a picture on the web.
