Well, let's just say that I never try and judge a book by its cover. But
when I read on the preface page that the author has no interest in the
welfare of a part of nature, I tend to put the book back down ;-)

Feral cats are a part of nature. In your part of the world, they may be
considered vermin, and if so, that's a fact of life. If they are a
problem and need controlling, then there are humane ways of dealing with
these things. Taking life without care for any resultant suffering is
not only distasteful to me, but actually abhorrent!

So yeah, I guess I do say it as if it's a bad thing. hey, you're young.
Wait til you get past 40 - you tend to spend a bit more time thinking
about conserving life rather than ingoring it ;-)
