Pretty frikkin cheap actually. My standard developer is Rodinal. Even at $18 for a 500ml bottle, I'm running somewhere around $0.40 per roll of 120 and $0.25 per roll of 35mm for chemical costs (Fix & stop are reusable and cost me maybe $0.20/roll if not less). At that cost, paying sales tax on the film costs me more than developing it.
The only serious cost for B&W film is buying the film itself. That's about $4-5/roll (E6 and C41 are different. E6 costs me around $15/roll developed while C41 is around $10/roll for 120. And I get 15 shots per roll). I don't consider my 645 kit a money-pit at all. 35mm can be (way too much available stuff to promote GAS) and digital can as well (HDD space in particular is a real cost if shooting RAW. The files might be much smaller, but you'll shoot a LOT more. 100 shots on a vacation is a lot for 120, and about an afternoon for digital). -Adam Bob Sullivan wrote: > Fun, but $$$$$ Regards, Bob S. > > On 9/6/07, Adam Maas <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: >> Godfrey DiGiorgi wrote: >>> On Sep 6, 2007, at 1:10 PM, Adam Maas wrote: >>> >>>> ...
