To echo other comments you've received, wider is better for such a trip.

The 14mm is bulky and relatively heavy but worth its weight many times.

So, alternate kits:

1. DA14 , DA21 , FA43 , DA70 or FA77

2. DA14 , DA16-45 or DA*16-50 , DA21 , DA70 or FA77

3. DA12-24 , DA40 or FA43 , DA70 or FA77

If you have the space and the budget, all of the above could do with
the addition of the DA50-200 or the DA*50-135. It is good to have the
extra reach for close-ups of architectural details, nesting storks,
couples at the table in street-side cafes, etc. And/or a 50mm or
100mm macro?

My recommendations are based on the following assumptions: a) you
want everything to fit one smallish bag; b) only one camera body; c)
a lot of your time will be in cities.

Too often I will take a shot with whatever lens is on the camera
rather than stopping to change lenses. I have taken a couple of trips
with two camera bodies and find I make much better use of my
equipment that way. So, at this point, I think the ideal minimal(?)
kit for me is:

->-> K10D (2); DA14, DA*16-50; DA21; A50/1.2; DA*50-135; FA77 <-<-

The A50/1.2 comes out of the bag at night in the cities, the other
lenses and camera body stashed in the hotel. During the day I would
carry the rest, with one of these combos usually mounted on the two
cameras: a) wide zoom + FA77, or b) DA21 + long zoom.

Disclaimer: I have held the DA12-24 and have seen results from it but
have not used it myself. I have not seen the DA40 or DA70, nor the
DA*16-50. When recommending these lenses I am going on list
reputation and an expectation that their quality is equivalent to the
other lenses in the same series which I have used. All of the other
lenses mentioned are ones I have used and am well satisfied with.
