He does make a valid point though. I'd be far more likely to buy a lens for a camera I just won than I would to buy a camera to fit a lens or a flash ... although I think Pentax'd probably get better marketing value for giving away a camera kit.
I'd be far more likely to buy *ANOTHER* lens for a camera I'd won if I could it use right out of the box. And it's far more likely I'd eventually follow an upgrade path once committed to the system than if I have a lens or a flash I couldn't use for anything but a paperweight.
