Maybe, but it sounds to me like Hoya is going to run Pentax the way a business should be run. It is ridiculous that K10D's (the flagship) costs about the same as other mfrs. bottom of the line. The price looks good, but what's it doing to Pentax's reputation?
Something to consider... a year ago there was supposedly such high demand for the K10D, that shelves in some parts of the world were bare. Now the price has dropped significantly and there's a rebate. One thing's for sure - selling lots of cameras and lenses with little profit can be self-defeating, whether it's being done to gain market share or not. Tom C. From: "P. J.
