All that the FA-J and DA series lenses need in an "aperture simulator" ... or, more precisely, aperture position indicating lever ... is a slot in the mount. The mechanical aperture ring following lever in a non-Program equipped body will default to minimum aperture, which will be the correct setting for any lens without an aperture ring or an A series lens set to the A position.
All the non-aperture ring lenses I've seen (DA and FAJ) have this slot. Since they do not have an aperture ring, they cannot have an indicating lever to follow its motion. Aperture setting on these lenses is regulated solely by the iris actuating mechanism in the bodies so equipped to work with them.
