I believe the last release date I saw (someplace) was 12/07. I'm, also, interested.

Pentax has had problems manufacturing the two DA* lenses that already exist. Maybe the 60-250 will be released in December, as planned. But Pentax has publicly apologized (something they have been doing a lot lately) for being unable to meet the demand for the DA* 16-50. There have been reports of quality-control problems in some of the components. I suspect that no more DA* lenses will be released until Pentax can meet the demand for the DA* 16-50. There are other QC problems. My first copy of the DA* 50-135 arrived with a loose lens element, rattling around inside like a marble. To their credit, Pentax USA replaced it for me after I posted a complaint on dpreview. And, yes, Pentax USA knew that this lens is sold in North America.
