Thanks Bill and Adam.  I'll ask another question it would otherwise take me 
a while to get the answer to.

Native resolution.  The monitors I'm looking at getting are widescreen 1680 
x 1050.  I see some cards list resolutions both above and below that, but 
not exactly that.  Should I assume that the specific resolution is not 
supported by the card?  I likewise see specs that say just because you don't 
see your monitor resolution listed, does not mean it will not work.

Should I be worried or will the native resolution be detected and the 
firmware adapt itself to the aspect ratio of the monitor (make sense?).
