Hi all, I'm unsubscribing again in the face of yet more computer problems. Unrelated from the previous lot but now the 10.5.1 update has caused me problems with unresponsive applications and difficulty shutting down. It seems that Mail is very good at triggering this whenever it tries to connect to a server. I've also found that Safari will crash whenever it tries to make a secure (https) connection.
I don't like dealing with large quantities of email using my webmail so I'll unsubscribe for a while until I can sort this out. I was just starting to think that my gremlins had all been vanquished. After my initial installation problems I utterly refuse to reinstall the OS so I might have to wait for 10.5.2. Another thing I've found out with Leopard is that my Macromedia MX (2004) suite asked me to re-enter the license key due to the system upgrade, but then the license program itself crashes. Further research shows that Adobe won't support this old package with Leopard. They don't guarantee Photoshop CS2 either but that ran OK last time I tried it. I'm undecided about either booting Tiger off my secondary drive or just upgrading the software. Rebooting seems a little inconvenient. I know I could solve all this by throwing money at it but I'd prefer not to do that! Don't want to spend lots of money on myself with my partner's birthday coming up. Maybe I could buy "her" a shiny new iMac! Anyway I should be out enjoying the sunshine. It's too nice to be getting aggro about some piece of machinery. Cheers, - Dave -- PDML Pentax-Discuss Mail List [email protected] http://pdml.net/mailman/listinfo/pdml_pdml.net to UNSUBSCRIBE from the PDML, please visit the link directly above and follow the directions.
