Yes, Ann, I do remember! In July of 63 Kennedy visited the base I was stationed at for a demonstration of new weapons. As a Navy Photographer I had a wonderful opportunity to photograph him up close and personal and it was an awsome experience for a 21 yr old! Then that awful November and Dallas.
On Wed before Thanksgiving, my uncle, a Naval Aviator, flew from San Jose to China Lake to pick me up and take me back to his home In San Jose. We spent a somber Thanksgiving visiting and watching B&W TV of the news. He and I relived those memories just this past May just before GFM at a family reunion in N GA. He is now 75 and I almost 65. Bittersweet memories to be sure. Happy Thanksgiving to all!!
