Yeah, and I was wondering how the (hoot) he was going to schlep them about
the auto show venue. I imagined maybe 30 or 40 cars, each one of them
meritorious, each of them deserving a shot. Imagine, (as I could not),
hauling and setting up monoblcks for each shot?

A PENTAX AF400T flash is not necessarily "eensy weensy," having not only
power, but nearly infinite controllability. With a STO-FEN mounted, Vivitar
283/285s do yeomen's work in the situations we're talking about.
What we did not get though, was what he ~does~ shoot. Maybe a commercial,
fashion or product shooter shooting medium format whose work is strictly
indoors.
Note again, pointedly saying "I don't use flash," then in the next breath
saying I use ~"strobes"~ is dishonest:
as in "parsing minutiae"
**There are times when even fast film and the might LX can't handle low light
conditions, situations where a "pop"of on-camera flash saves the day (shoot).
But if one doesn't care ~what~ the results are...
