I don't either.  I'm not particularly fond of them myself, though I do 
wear one more often than not these days.  It's hard to tell the kiddos 
to put one on if Dad isn't wearing his.  I don't wear one when it's 
really hot, because even with the ventilation I find them uncomfortable. 
  I also don't wear one when it's really cold, as the stuff I wear on my 
head won't fit under the damn thing.

I do wear one at night, when it's raining, or when visibility is 
impaired - mine has some reflective striping on it.  Being seen is 
always good.  I do think their effectiveness is debatable, but I don't 
see how it would be bad to have one on if I fell off my bike.
