Hi Cotty, It lets you take those pictures of objects in motion wherein they have a trailing "ghost" behind them. For instance, a dancer with a blurred image behind, etc. Normal flash fires as soon as the curtains have opened, and any motion illuminated by ambient light which takes place after the flash is quenched is caught in the remainder of time in which the curtains remain open. That is, the sharp and in-focus part of the image is the ~first~ thing that happens in your scene after the curtains have just fully opened, and the blurred part is in front of the focused object. In second curtain sync, you capture a dimly light and blurred image illuminated by ambient light as soon as the curtains have opened, and there's a short delay before the flash fires. That is, the sharp and in-focus part of the image is the ~last~ thing that happens in your scene before the curtains start to close, and the blurred part in behind the focused object. Hope this helps. Bill Peifer Rochester, NY - This message is from the Pentax-Discuss Mail List. To unsubscribe, go to http://www.pdml.net and follow the directions.
