Tim, honestly for me this was a life time event.
I've been interested in wolves ever since my first backing trip (Isle
Royale, Michigan) back in the late 70's. I've witnessed wolves in the wild
before this event, but they were always on their way to somewhere. This pair
I witnessed were on this Caribou before I arrived & were still there when I
left several hours later. The next day all that was left of the Caribou were
the antlers.

Wolves are increasing in number in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan &
northern Minnesota as well as elsewhere in the U.S.

BTW. I envy you the experiense. Watching wolfs eating must really be
something.
We have some wolfes here in Norway, but they are very hard to track down.
Mainly because they are unpopular.
