Adam, My point wasn't anything to do with performance (and you already know that I find the reviewers online to be complete jerks in that respect). Only the pigeonholing that equipment junkies seem to love to do.
If you don't think that the D300 and E-3 are professional quality bodies, well, that's you're opinion. They certainly seem that way to me, regardless of what Nikon and Olympus have to say about it, based on their build and performance. The E-1 is another pro class body, albeit an old one with somewhat lower feature load and resolution spec. The A700 body I picked up at the store the other day doesn't feel like a pro-class body at all, imo. It may produce photos like one and have similar features ... just as the K10D does ... but as far as I can see these two are advanced amateur bodies. The Canon 40D I've been totally uninterested in so I haven't even looked at it. And of course the quality of the photos all of them make is more dependent on who's pushing the button than any review tester's spec sheet.
