12MP CMOS Sensor, WAY better high ISO than the D200(which performed similarly to the K10D), but not nearly as good as the D3(nothing is, the D3 is at least 1 stop better than anything else on the market). If you've seen the K20D high ISO shots, the D300 is similar in performance, a little noisier at 6400 but about the same at 3200 and below.
