All, For what it's worth, it looks to me like the problem is more than just one Norwegian user and a bunch of "me too's". For example, here's a thread over at "pentaxforums.com" that highlights some of the issues.

Many, many companies try to save money by blaming user error rather than acknowledging legitimate product defects. I'm wondering if anyone here has sent a poor-performing lens back to Pentax USA and had them correct the problem under warranty.
