The K10 is known to have focusing issues. It is pretty hard to blame a 
picture being out of focus on the lens in any circumstance though, as it is 
only one of the three things that need to be working properly to get a well 
focused image (the other two being, as you say, the operator and the camera. 
I noted that no one on the Pentax forum thingie mentioned trying to refocus 
the lens slightly to see if it could be brought into sharper focus, even if 
it meant looking slightly out of focus in the viewfinder.
