Italian CF, eh?  Wow!  My aluminium trackbike isn't that light, but at
about 18 pounds, it's light enough for me.  But 16 pounds 11 oz?  For
a road bike?  That's Tour de France climbing-bike light!  (actually
about a pound more - whatever - it's still impressive).  I remember
being mildly disappointed that your aluminium Jamis seemed to weigh
about the same as my steel-tubed roadbike:  somewhere around 21 or 22
pounds.

Those will be great for the Blue Ridge Mountains!

On this very day, I think I'd be the one huffing and puffing trying to
stay with you.  I've been on my bike about 2 or 3 days max this year -
much snow makes me want to stay dry and warm...
