Yes, they were shot in 75 - 77, mostly late 76.

I suspect McMurdo has changed quite a bit as most of the older wooden
buildings there have been replaced with more modern and more durable
materials.

As for the terrain, I doubt there would be much actual change as the
snow/ice accumulate and disipate every year. Antarctica is dryer than
any desert on earth and also has very little precipative snow. 99 % of
the snow that needs removing when a new summer season begins each year
is from wind blown redistribution of the snow from other areas of the
continent.

Some of the hype that is reported as to global warming causing
disaster with the Penguin rookeries is simply overblowing of changes
in the coastlines due to sea water freezing and melting every year. It
is a constant flux of changes every year that has been going on for
tens of thousands of years.

I understand that this current summer season saw some pretty thick ice
in the McMurdo area that was tough to remove, yet other areas of the
continent saw little to no ice buildup. It is all a matter of knowing
the difference between "weather" and "climate". In the case of
Antarctica, that difference is very hard to determine!
