Late 70's Yes, lots of beards! Most of the guys grew them so that they could get some ice/snow caked in them and get a photo of themselves to prove they were OAE's (Old Antarctic Explorers!) Fortunately, or UNfortunately, I have never been able to grow a beard! :-)
