I find the Sandisk ImageMate 12-in-1 that I use most of the time
occasionally has trouble reading cards, and particularly Sandisk
Extreme III cards. However, the Sandisk Extreme Card Reader has no
trouble at all with the same cards.

Both of these are USB 2.0 interface and are very fast. There are a
couple of newer card readers available with FireWire 400 interface
which are faster still. I recommend the Extreme Card Reader as it is
tiny, cheap, and very reliable. It handles both CF and SD flawlessly.
