On 29/3/08, David J Brooks, discombobulated, unleashed:

Dave,

During the course of my work I film animals by the ark-load. You know
what the best asset is? Being able to attract the attention of the sitter
(s). Practice your animal impersonations - whistling and shouting a
dog's name will get you nowhere - you need to speak Dog. Speaking Cat
is much worse. Heaven forbid if there are two or more sitters together.
Anyway I won't teach you how to suck (duck's) eggs. You asked about
charging - I'd name your own rate if I were you.

Meanwhile, I have a friend who used to be an RSPCA (Royal Society for
the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals) and shot animal portraiture at the
weekend as a sideline. It overtook his life and now does it full time:

He has some books out:

Best of luck mate.
