I (we) spent uncountable days at Vasona, with friends, watching the
sail boats, playing catch with a football, fishing and picnicking. A
few times we had planned to go to Santa Cruz, but the traffic was at a
stand still, so would diverted to Vasona.
We no longer live in San Jose (Campbell), but were through there on hwy
17 a few year back. I didn't recognize the area at all. The tree and
other plant growth was not to be believed. Didn't even get a glimpse of
the "percolation ponds".
I don't know how long it's been since you were there, but you'd likely
shed another tear if you were to have a look at the development in that
area.
No longer "The Valley of Heart's Delight".
