Some notes:

- You can control the Camera Raw cache location and size with PS CS2  
or Bridge by setting the Camera Raw preferences, either from Bridge  
or from the Camera Raw plugin itself if you have PSE instead.

- On Mac OS X systems, the default Camera Raw cache directory is  
located at the path:
   ~/Library/Caches/Adobe Camera Raw

- The Mac OS X path to the Preferences.xmp file if you want to edit  
it is
   ~/Library/Application Support/Adobe/CameraRaw/Defaults/

I do see a modest speed improvement in Lightroom when I set the cache  
size up to 20Gbytes. Happily, I have plenty of room on my startup  
drive so this is not a problem at all.
