It's been many months since I last cast any votes at the gallery, so the situation may have changed. Back then, however, I noticed a certain variation over time in average image quality. And it wasn't always a turn for the worse. In periods, people would restrict themselves very sensibly, and at other times spam the gallery completely. On a couple of occasions, the submission quality improved after someone delivered a scolding post to the Pentax SLR forum at dpReview.
One very funny incident was when a photo club in Hong Kong had done an outing, and made night shots of a particular bridge in Hong Kong. Many of the shots credited one gallery member for arranging the outing, and seemed to submit their photos to the Pentax Gallery as a sort of "I was there too" statement. Practically all the photos were the same; possibly cropped to match the first of the submitted. The first one got in, the rest was thrown out. :-) Jostein 2008/7/9 Mark Roberts <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>: > David J Brooks wrote: >> If Bruce gets 1-10 and Godders get 0-30, no wonder none of mine have >> been accepted > > I think Bruce was saying that when he votes on *other* people's shots he > gives 1 yes vote out of every 10 photos. > > > -- > PDML Pentax-Discuss Mail List > [email protected] > http://pdml.net/mailman/listinfo/pdml_pdml.net > to UNSUBSCRIBE from the PDML, please visit the link directly above and follow > the directions. > -- http://www.alunfoto.no/galleri/ http://alunfoto.blogspot.com -- PDML Pentax-Discuss Mail List [email protected] http://pdml.net/mailman/listinfo/pdml_pdml.net to UNSUBSCRIBE from the PDML, please visit the link directly above and follow the directions.
