Mark, you have some specular highlights showing in that picture, and what is obviously a veiling flare top left. The double image almost looks like a soft focus effect that can be had by doing a double exposure where you do one shot in focus and then another one somewhat out of focus (long focus). I've seen that with accessory lenses. The wide aperture definitely contributed to the effect by using more of the accessory lens to make the pucture.
