It is difficult to fathom how much it has changed since I was last  
there in February of 1982!  Nice pictures.

A favorite photo of mine from Berlin (I don't know how well this  
then-17-year-old photographer caught it), is this sign that used to be  
in front of the Brandenburg Gate which says:

  "Achtung: Sie Verlassen jetzt West-Berlin" (Attention, you are now  
leaving West Berlin)

  and underneath that, someone has written:

  "Wie Denn" (loosely translated: "Oh yeah?  How?")
