Yes - I'm less than impressed with Firefox 3's handling of bookmarks. 
Previously I could share bookmarks between my Windows and Linux versions
by specifying the location of the bookmarks file in the "about:config"
dialog.  Firefox 3 no longer uses "bookmarks.html" for bookmarks  -
that's handled by a "places.sqlite" file and there's no way of
specifying its location (at least, none that I can find).
