I wouldn't call Epiphone a 'cheap Gibson clone', their QC is generally better than Gibson's own, good mid-range guitars. I'd gladly buy an Epiphone off the shelf, but a Gibson I'd not touch unless I had tried out the guitar in question. -- M.
