--- Time Sensitive: Orphan Works is being HOTLINED today - Call your Reps and Senators NOW!!! ---

Sorry for the political announcement. This is for US folks, although it might be worthwhile for those who live in other countries to see what's going on here and look at what their governments are doing on this sort of stuff.

I've been tracking this issue for a while. I think it's important to act. If you have not been tracking it, I would suggest reading about it from the informational links below for more information.

Again, my apologies for the politics.

Dear all,

We have an emergency-they are attempting to HOTLINE the orphan works bill in Senate and push it through the House!!! NOW, as you read this. Don't wait !!!!!

PLEASE CONTACT YOUR SENATOR AND CONGRESSPERSON TO VOTE NO ON THE ORPHAN
WORKS BILLS -House H.R. 5889 and one in the Senate S. 2913

The proposed legislation, if it passes as it is now written, will change US copyright law. Such a change, as it is now written, will negatively impact artists of all disciplines (literary, visual, music, etc.), as well as every US citizen. There are two bills - one filed in the House H.R. 5889 and one
in the Senate S. 2913.

Contact your Congressperson and Senator- To find out who represents you:

The Illustrators Partnership of America has a wonderful website that goes into much more detail on this legislation and you can also down load the
legislation off of their website to read it for yourself.

Their website also has an easy way for you to contact your Congressperson
and Senator:

TELL EVERYONE YOU KNOW TO CALL ON THIS ISSUE AND ASK THEM TO CALL THEIR
SENATORS AND CONGRESSPERSON!
