Speaking of the ALMS, the week of the Detroit event, I got to meet & talk with Patrick Long, a Porsche factory driver, a very impressive young man. He's 27 I believe, & has already run THE LeMans 24 hour race 4 times, podiumed in class several time IIRC. He moved up to the Porsche Spyder this year after driving GT3s.

Interestingly he related that several F1 pilots were envious of his LeMans experience & were not encouraging him to try to make the leap to F1. He said he has no interest in F1 as a driver.

He seemed tp be a regular guy with both feet on the ground.

But Grand-Am is a lot more interesting than NASCAR. In fact,
of late, it's probably been providing better racing for the
spectators than ALMS. That wasn't true a few years ago, but
from my viewpoint Grand-Am has come of age. Admittedly there
is still a little too much close-contact racing, but the series
officials have been cracking down on that pretty heavily.

You got some great shots there Cory.

And I fully agree with the sentiment of that t-shirt. NASCAR is
televised here, and it's as boring as bat shit.
