I can understand that to a degree. I love the process of being out
there, taking pictures and being invisible amongst everything.
Sometimes when I look at the pictures that result all I feel is
disgust. If you never have to look at them afterwards you can imagine
them as all brilliant.
Cartier-Bresson and the other Magnum photographers in the early days
spent so long away from base, shipping film home, that they sometimes
didn't see their photos for months - perhaps years.

When I was traveling it would be a month or so before I saw any of my
slides or developed
my tri-x negs - sometimes longer... I was almost always disappointed
when I looked at most them the first time, but obnoxiously gleeful when
I found one that was a success in my eyes.
