Once my insurance co. gets the report, they will pay me that amount.

And so minutes ago I get a call from the insurance company.

They based my initial payment on the depreciated value of the items as submitted by "Insurer's World", and are sending me about $3700. They say I then will have $7600 in reserve to make up the difference between that figure and what it costs me to replace the gear. And I have to do that out of pocket, reimbursed based on receipts.

As I'm on a fixed income that's not that great, it looks like I will be best off replacing the highest value items first, then using the differential money on those to purchase the remainder. I'll await the receipt later this week of the itemized data they are sending me today.

Back to the spreadsheets! :-)
