Not just a chance other brands do, a near-certainty.  A few months ago I looked 
through the Canon 1D/DS/5D forum on dpreview.  In an informal survey on one 
thread, more than a quarter of the 60-odd (IIRC) respondents had 1D-family 
cameras that were either broken or had had to go back to Canon for repairs.
