No Starbucks or Mickey Ds. I have to transmit from Cobo Hall in downtown Detroit. They have wireless, but the Times doesn't trust their connection. They want something that provides independent control of uploads.

You sure Starbucks for free isn't enough, or Wayport at McD's for an hourly fee?

I have a chance to do a four day gig for the New York Times, but I have to be able to upload jpegs to an FTP site on the fly. I can't count on finding a wireless zone. The Times guy said their photographers use Verizon. Does anyone know how that works? I've seem devices that plug into a USB port, but
I didn't find them on Verizon's web site. I need help. Right away!!
