Paul, I use a 3G ExpressCard (the type that will fit into your MacBook ExpressCard slot) all the time - I upload video quite swiftly depending on coverage. We're talking file sizes of 50 to 200 MB. The quality is still considered acceptable by broadcast standards - compression is heavy but impressive. You can get dongles that plug into USB ports as well.
