Frank and all (you know who you are) thanks for the comments --

after about 60 more frames with the z10 I decided it just wasn't good enough and it went right back to B&H this evening... replaced with the W60.... (wot the hell, I don't really need to go to the dentist foa a while, and I did get a nice check from a friend for my birthday) The battery is charging so I've been leafing through the manual....
It wasn't REAL expensive --

this morning, with the Optio z10....

now if I can keep the thing steady enough at ISO 64 it isn't too bad...

I slightly cropped this to get out a banner on the left. ... put a border on

It snowed a bit here today, but unfortunately not when I was on Union Square

I kinda like this one.

I wish the blasted thing (the z10) didn't hoover so much at high ISO's the
3200 is pretty much useless...
also, not enough manual control and I can't figure out how to see the exif
after I've taken a shot - until I put
it on the computer

I think it's a cool shot. Like the cop car bottom left, like the
Umpire State Building (as my francophone grandfather used to call it)
in the background.

Very New York!

cheers,
frank
