Big thanks, Godfrey, for the heads up. I'll see if I can get these
Hahnemuhle ICC profiles to work, & I've made note of your suggestions. FYI,
I bought the Brilliant Museum Satin Matte White (made by Calumet
Photo--supposedly these papers are made at the same factory as Epson
papers)--I used it for both color and bw, and I have to say I was pleased
with the results--though I wasn't completely satisfied with the way it
printed the color orange--but I'd definitely recommend it for bw--and for
color, but if you have something with a lot of orange it, be on guard.
Also, I finally tried the Epson's Water Color Radiant White, which I found
nice--did well with color, I thought. You know, I haven't tried Epson's
Velvet Fine Art for color yet. I don't know why, but I haven't. I'll have
to try that soon. Cheers, Christine

Christina,
Be warned:
I have had issues feeding both the Hahnemühle Photo Rag Smooth 308gsm
and Bamboo papers with the R2400. They're lovely papers ... a little
softer rendering than the Epson Velvet Fine Art with a warmer color
and a smoother surface texture, but they often prove to be frustrating
to me.
I've gotten best results using the Epson Ultrasmooth Fine Art setting
in the driver with them, and use the Hahnemühle ICC profiles. I like
them particularly for warm-toned B&W work. The Velvet Fine Art's
cooler base tone gives more pop for color work, IMO.

Thanks, Godfrey. I plan to buy some paper tomorrow! Cheers, Christine
Hahnemühle's documentation is what's important in this case.
I've used their Photo Rag Smooth 308gsm mostly, with the R2400.
---
Page Setup: pick printer, paper size and feed type (rear slot, single
sheet, manual feed for the R2400)
Photoshop or Lightroom: pick HFA_Eps2400_MK_PhotoRag profile,
Perceptual or Relative Colormetric intent as the target paper
Print Driver setup: pick "Watercolor Paper - Radiant White" or
"Ultrasmooth Fine Art" paper types, Color, Color Settings "Off (No
color adjustment)", Advanced mode, Best Photo quality, disable High
Speed.
