Sound advice from John and Paul indeed. If you feel like guing and have access to, try scale model glue as it melts the parts along the contact area, care not to use too much glue - you may end with a modern art sculpture.

If you go for the glue, prepare a surface to place the hood while it dries - I'd suggest some glass for this particular glue. Also, whatever glue you use, keep the shade away from any lens for a fairly long time - cianoacrilate fumes may render anything they cling on useless, and any solvent may harm your lens' coating if you put them together too soon.

You're probably better off with a replacement... but I do glue something I'd better buy now and then myself. Good luck anyway.

Well, i did it and I can't blame anyone else. I dropped my DS and it came down on the lens shade for my 20-35 lens. It didn't shatter but it did knock a piece out of the mount circle. I have the piece. Has anyone had success gluing these plastic shades and are there any glue recommendations? BTW, lens is fine......phew
