Thanks, Christine and Marnie and everyone else who chimed in. It's been almost 2 months and most days are OK at this point. It does have it's moments. I spent most of Monday thinking about nothing else. The line in my .sig is my mark of shame. It's there and I can't remove it unless I'm willing to accept much loss of face. Which I'm not. I also couldn't stand to see it there if it wasn't true. So if you ever see that it's gone you'll know I failed, and at that point you have carte blanche to roast me to a nasty, blackened crisp.
Keep it up, Scott. Lisa used to work in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. The center of the tobacco industry. Think about being a *pathologist* in Winston-Salem!
Even more amazing she knew a thoracic surgeon there who had a FIVE pack-a-day habit! Boggles the mind, doesn't it? But if this guy couldn't quit, when he spent his days taking fist-sized tumors out of people's chests, I think the addictive power of nicotine is self-evident. In other words, you're doing great.
