Classic example. I'm going away next week and debated taking the DA14 2.8 but
I know I won't lug it around all day. Instead, I have the DS, the DA40, and
the FA20-35 (which is very light). Heavy lenses are like condoms: they're
only good if you actually use them.

I have petty well decided that the bulky high quality faster lenses I
leave home don't get very good results compared to the smaller lesser
quality slower lenses I carry with me. Which is why I sold my A20/2.8
in favor of the DA21/3.2. And while I obviously lost some speed, I am
not sure I lost any quality. I'll probably sell the 14/2.8, and I may
buy the new 15/4. Or I may stick with the 16-50 for my wide shots.
