Reliability has gotten better, not worse. But expected reliability without regular service has increased faster. Consumer DSLR's are expected to have a shutter life of 50,000 or more shots. Nobody expected a MZ-50 to last 1300+ rolls without service (50k shots is 1388 36ex rolls). -- M.
