Sometimes there is one obvious shot of a subject, and getting a decent shot of it is straight forward. But this is a situation, where there is obvious potential, but how to make the best of it is far less than obvious. Combine that with the fact that everyone's taste differs, and the feedback that I'm getting is very educational. # Of these I think IMGP1521 works best I'd also like to know why you think it works. I kind of like the way the various elements keep drawing the eye in a circle, the trees take you away to the right, the red down and the curb back. Good point. I don't remember what I was trying for then. A lot of the shots yesterday were, admittedly, taken by putting the camera next to the ground and aiming in the general direction. I knew I wanted a low angle, but the ground was wet, so for these test shots I took the lazy way out and made use of autofocus and the fact that digital frames don't cost me anything to shoot. # Perhaps a shooting position a bit further to the right would separate # the trunk and the hydrant and also make the hydrant less centred (which # might bring better balance to the composition).
