Didn't Fuji Film have a long running advertising campaign that their film had an extra layer specifically for those hard to capture greens?

Reala, and I believe the technology made it's way into some of their other emulsions. It was originally designed to let the film work better under mixed light (florescent mixed with daylight or flash).

Kodak once had an "Ektachrome G" Super-8 movie film that was intended to be a cross between daylight and tungsten balance. They hoped it would work well in both kinds of lighting but of course it worked in neither. It did, however, work pretty well under fluorescent lighting.
